Hi, fellas!
While other projects are in the queue waiting for paint/lacquer/epoxy/whatever to cure and harden, I decided to take a stab at this: Scratchbuilding an M50 turret like Vasco Barbic and others had to do 25 years ago or more. I started with the turret shell from the DML Orange Box M4A4 kit, drawings from Lioness and Lion of the Line, and lots and lots of photos. This is what I've got so far. There is a lot of shaping to be done yet, and the front of the trunnion box isn't exactly square, either. Most everything is sheet styrene and epoxy putty, with a ventilator dome swiped from an Academy M51. It isn't faired in yet, just glued on. Looks like I might have to move it a bit. Tell me what you think, will this one end up being reasonably accurate? Going per the drawings from Dr. Manasherob, the two structures are coming out somewhat larger than what we've seen on the Formations, AEF Designs, and Dragon turrets (I have all three to compare).
